Troop Lodge Camping Skills Training Offered in Waltham

Girls Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts Council will offer Troop Lodge Camping Skills Training in Waltham on Tuesday, April 14 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

This training will prepare and qualify you to help girls lead their troop on a camping experience in a Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts Council cabin or lodge, Brownie or Monster Camping and incorporate the Girl Scout Leadership Experience. You will gain camping skills that are girl-led through cooperative and learn-by-doing activities. Safety and risk management, what to bring on your trip, menus and meals, Girl Scout program in the out-of-doors and fire building will be covered. You will learn how girls can Discover and Connect to the world outside through activities during camping trips.
Please note that your official camping experience will require another volunteer who is a qualified First Aider.
Leaders are advised to take Troop Lodge Camping Skills 6-8 weeks before taking a troop lodge camping. All training sessions are free.
